Weekly Newsletter: 30 May 2016
1. Monday, May 30, 2016 is a regular training night at Breadner School. Cadets should wear summer dress. Please wear civilian footwear and carry in your parade boots. Cadets are to arrive not earlier than 5:45 pm and are to be picked up not later than 9:00 pm.
2. The Parents' Committee is running a bottle drive on Monday, May 30, 2016 at Breadner School. Please click here for more information about this fundraiser!
3. For Cadets Attending Summer Training: If you will complete Gr. 9 by the end of June 2016 and are attending a Summer Training Course that is 3 weeks in length or longer, you can earn up to two high school co-op credits for completing summer training! If you are interested in finding out more information about this program, please send an email to administration@704aircadets.ca as soon as possible.
4. Our Supply Section is not on site at Breadner Elementary School. Supply is being stored at Active Self Storage, 400 Sidney St. Cadets needing supply will be required to make an appointment. This can be done by talking directly to the Supply Staff. Cadets can also request an appointment by contacting us by phone or through our website.
5. A reminder that 704 Squadron is always accepting donations of Canadian Tire Money to help offset the cost of supplies and equipment.
6. If your cadet is going to be absent from any training night or other squadron activity, the cadet must call the squadron and leave a message stating the reason for their absence. 704 Squadron has a new phone number and may be reached at 613-921-7047. If preferred, please utilize the "Notice of Absence" feature on our website.
7. An update is being made to Cadet Dress Instructions with regards to the uniform and badge placement. Information about the changes can be found here.
8. We are looking for 10 cadets to help set up tables and chairs for our banquet at the National Air Force Museum on May 31, 2016. Cadets are asked to arrive for 4pm and stay until the set up is complete. If interested, please call the Squadron at 613-921-7047 and leave a message with rank, first name and last name. You can also send an email to administration@704aircadets.ca and provide the same information.
Upcoming Events:
27-29 May 2016: FTX. Drop-off and pick up will be at the canteen, Trenton Cadet Training Centre (3 Yukon St.) See information letter for more details and timings.
30 May 2016: Bottle Drive. See above for more information.
1 June 2016: Annual Awards Banquet. The Banquet will be a casual event and cadets will not be required to wear their uniform. The Banquet will be held at the National Air Force Museum of Canada, 220 RCAF Rd, Trenton, with an arrival time of 6:00pm. This is a mandatory event and cadets who are absent (without permission from the CO) will be required to pay $15 for their meal.

19 June 2016: Tree Top Trekking at Ganaraska. Information and waiver forms will be distributed on 30 May 2016.
25-26 June 2016: Quinte International Air Show. The Squadron has been asked to provide volunteers to help sell Snowbirds merchandise during the air show. Shifts are 10-2pm and 2-6pm. Cadets who volunteer their time will receive free admission to the air show. As a thank you for our help, the Squadron will receive a donation of 10% of the profits. This is a fantastic opportunity to partake in the festivities and promote the Air Cadet program to the community!
