Welcome to 704 Air Force City Cadet Squadron!
Our Squadron is NOT training at the Trenton Cadet Training Centre this year. We will be at Marc Garneau School, 30 Fullerton Avenue, Trenton.

Training Nights are Monday's 6pm to 9pm at Marc Garneau School, 30 Fullerton Avenue, Trenton. The school has water bottle refilling stations so feel free to bring your reusable water bottles.
Important Reminders:
#1 - Air Cadet League of Canada - Ontario Provincial Committee ("OPC") Lottery Tickets: If you have not already done so please bring your $60 and obtain your book of tickets to sell. Every book contains 12 tickets to be sold for $5 each. When the tickets are sold, return only the stubs and keep the money. Each Cadet is expected to sell one book. Less than one third of the books have been picked up so far. Please bring in your $60 and pick up your book of tickets. The prizes for the lottery winners include vehicles and cash. This year 1st Grand Prize is a choice of one of two vehicles: 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport or 2018 Jeep Cherokee Limited FWD. Exact and additional details can be found on the tickets.
#2 - Returning Cadet Validation Forms - Please update, sign and return the validation forms as soon as possible. These forms were sent home with returning Cadets on September 18th. If a returning Cadet did not receive a validation form to be updated, please ask Capt D. Kendall or Mrs. L. Comerford for it on the next regular training night.
#3 - Marc Garneau is a nut free school. DO NOT bring any snacks or items containing any type of nut into the school.
#4 - Wear your outdoor shoes to the school and carry your boots. Please put your boots on once you are inside the school.
Please add the following events to your calendar for the 2017-2018 Training Year:
• Wednesday 27th September – Band Practice – Marc Garneau School 6:30pm to 8pm. *The band will be meeting on Wednesdays at Marc Garneau School from 6:30pm to 8pm as well as on Fridays at the Belleville Armouries (corner of Bridge and Pinnacle) from 6:30pm to 8pm. Cadets interested in band can attend either or both nights. There will be NO band on Friday Sept 29th or Wednesday Oct 4th. There will be band on Friday Oct 6th in Belleville but tagging is the priority so if your only available time to tag that weekend is on the Friday then please help with tagging instead of going to band.
• Wednesday 27th September - Orienteering Practice - Marc Garneau School 8pm to 8:45pm
• Friday 29th September – Herc Pull for Charity – 9:30 is an opening ceremonies if you wish to see it but please arrive by 10am to 4pm - Enter Base at lights off RCAF Rd and proceed straight down Westwin Road to 1 Hangar (really big hanger near the end of Westwin Ave.) Dress is cadet camp shirt or navy t-shirt and jeans with athletic shoes. Please dress appropriately for the weather if cooler and/or rain is expected.
You MUST bring: $10 per participant - Health Card - Signed Waiver (see below) - water bottle and lunch or funds to purchase food at the BBQ on site. Prices have not been confirmed but expecting approximately $5 for a hot dog and drink.

• Saturday 30th September - AD ASTRA Stone Dedication Ceremony – National Air Force Museum 1:00PM to 4:00 PM - Dress is Full Uniform including Tunic, Tie and Medals (if awarded).
• Monday 2nd October – Change of Command Parade – Parents are welcome to join 704 Cadets and invited guests at Marc Garneau School as Capt K. Dixon formally takes over command from Capt D. Kendall. Cadets are expected to arrive for their normal time of 6pm. Dress is Full Uniform including Tunic, Tie and Medals (if awarded). Parents are asked to be seated at 6:30 for the parade start at 7pm.
• Friday 6th October – Fall Tag Day (Various Locations) 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM • Saturday 7th October – Fall Tag Day (Various Locations) 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM • Saturday 7th October – Fall Tag Day (Various Locations) 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM *When Tagging, Cadets should be prepared for the weather by bringing Cadet Parka for rain or cold and sunscreen if Tagging in the sun. *Cadets are expected to participate in at least one of the three Fall Tag Day shifts noted above. Cadets are to be dropped off and picked up from Marc Garneau School for their respective shifts.
• Monday 9th October – Thanksgiving Holiday – NO CADETS
• Saturday 14th October – Orienteering Competition (Details to Follow)
• Saturday 14th October - 413 Air Force Association Annual Spaghetti Dinner at 413 Wing *Fundraiser for 704 Squadron. Families Welcome and Encouraged!!! Tickets for the dinner will be $8 per adult (13+) $5 per child (6-12) and free for children 5 and under. Mrs. Fernandes (Parents Committee) has the tickets available for purchase.
• Friday, Saturday, Sunday 20th to 22nd October – Fall Field Training Exercise (FTX) - Details to follow
• Saturday 28th October - 413 Wing Air Force Association Dinner – 8 Cadets needed to serve.
• Friday 10th November – Overnight Vigil – at Trenton Cenotaph – details to follow.
• Saturday 11th November – Remembrance Day Ceremony – at Trenton Cenotaph - details to follow.
• Sunday 19th November - Band at Belleville Santa Claus Parade – 4:00 PM - details to follow.
• Saturday 25th November – Squadron at Frankford Santa Claus Parade – details to follow.
• Saturday 25th November - 413 Wing Charter Night Dinner - 6 Cadets needed to serve – details to follow.
• Sunday 26th November – Squadron/Band at Trenton Santa Claus Parade - details to follow.
• Monday 18th December - 704 Christmas Dinner - Details to follow.
• The Squadron is planning an overnight trip in March during the School March Break. Tentative dates are 11-12 March 2018. Location being investigated: Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton overnight program.
• Weather permitting, a Saturday ski day at the Bata Ski Hill is being considered for the cadets.
Some extra activities for our cadets this year may include: 1. Band 2. Drill 3. Effective Speaking 4. Exertion 5. Ground School 6. Marksmanship 7. Orienteering
