March 18, 2019 Newsletter
Welcome back to 704 Air Force City Cadet Squadron!
Important Reminders
1. To report an absence for a training night, please notify one of the officers in person, OR call or text the squadron phone number OR fill out the Notice of Absence form on the website. Commenting on Facebook or telling another Cadet is not an appropriate way to notify the squadron of an absence.
2. We are always in need of Parent Volunteers of all types, whether it is for the parents committee and canteen or for other activities. If you are interested in helping out, please contact the Commanding Officer.
3. Although there is a canteen available on most Monday evenings to purchase snacks, we like to encourage healthy eating and therefore are asking parents to help out by providing fresh fruit (whole apples, oranges or bananas) for cadets on Monday evenings. If you are interested in making a donation, please let someone on the parents committee know so that you can be added to the schedule.
4. Perceptions Regarding Careers in Aviation - CLICK HERE for full Information Notice - Survey participation requested at link below.
Parents and Guardians of Cadets,
In an efford to identify perceived barriers to those entering the aviation industry, Elevate Aviations, a non-profit organization in Canada, is conducting a national research project that aims to collect information from a variety of demographics across the country, including members of the Air Cadet Program. The Air Cadet survey intends to provide a picture of how familiar youth in the Cadet Program are with careers in the aviation industry and how they perceive those careers. The results of this survey will help develop an action plan to address the gender imbalance in aviations and to increase economic security for women.
The Cadet Program is supporting this survey and is seeking your consent for your cadet son(s)/daughter(s)/ward(s) to participate in the online survey, administered by Zag Create for Elevate Aviation. The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. https://www.research.net/r/8ST2HZL You have until 24 March 2019 to participate. The information provided will be used solely for the purpose of the survey adn will be communicated to third parties. Only grouped results will be reported.
